I agree that if Jesus or any religious figure were made fun of on Halloween, I'd have a problem with it too. But some children are dressed as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Davy Crockett, John Wayne, etc....to honor those figures, not to make fun of them.

If kids want to be cartoon characters or monsters, I'm cool with that too. I just feel this particular Catholic mom and Jewish dad were supporting their son's choice of a costume, while others possibly diminished the son's choice. At least that's what I was feeling when I read the article.

For some of us, Halloween is a time to pretend and make merry. For others, it is the Eve of All Souls Day, where we honor the souls of the dearly departed. I support both and did not mean to offend anyone. I don't think this young boy did either.
