That was how I got an uncontrolable fear of basements. When I was a kid I saw a movie where a women was taking her laundry basket up the apartment house stairs and was grabbed from between the stairs by boney ugly fingers, and when she fell backwards down the stairs this creature pounced on her and dragged her into the wall. I know it sounds ridiculous and it is but none the less basements are off limits to me unless there are other people around....These fears can and are very real to a kid and hey, I'm NO KID and still get the creepies where basements are involved.

I was reading last night that since the internet (porn sites/chat rooms) divorce rates have risen to better than 1 out of 2, as an average. Hell, why even bother then?

Yeah If we spent as much time talking to our spouses and kids as we do on the chat forums then we might be in a better place, however, I know that the opportunity to be part of these conversations actually gave me the strength to make my relationship work!! I think relationships are choices and the success or not depends on our commitment. Life is pretty hectic and it takes a lot of time to find 10 minutes alone to concentrate on important conversations.
My 14 year old is still sleeping in our room. He tries his room now and again but it doesnt last. I told my Husband that Tyler would not be in our room when he was 20, Tyler will get over it, just needs time. (I hope) any one experience this and have any suggestions? I might post something in the children threads.

Deb, Would it be too nosy for me to ask why your son Tyler at age 14, still needs to be in your room? I may have missed something posted earlier.

Hi Chatty, yes explained in an earlier post a couple up the page, and not usual. But he is getting better now. He is on Largactil, just 2mls at night to help sleep and he seems to be getting over it. Thankgoodness.
And I am going to fight those divorce rates and stand up for the family unit, despite chat rooms, internet porn and general difficulty in staying in the marriage relationship these days!!
