Ladies, One of my collection of "That was then, This is now" stories appears in this issue of Releasing Times magazine along with part 2 of Chatty's story and one by fellow Boomer/Newfoundlander, Bonnie Jarvis. I had an email stating that you can get a free copy by going to the website and requesting one. www.releasingtimes.com

My story is a tribute to my dear Mom and is titled "Washing clothes then and Laundry now" It features both our photos, so if you want to know what Mom and I look like here's your chance [Wink] .

Congratulations to Bonnie and Chatty.(not sure if I know the others) but congratulations to them also.

Mom would be proud [Big Grin]

I read it Chick. Yours too, Chatty. Good stories! I didn't send anything in this issue. Maybe in January. I was in the first one.

While we're in this thread. I sold two more books this week and the editor of the paper I write the nostalgic stories for gave me the go ahead on one about the old movie theaters.

Thanks all. This is my first magazine piece and I am excited. Chatty, do you know if we are getting "copies" of the magazine or is it put out that way? I'm thinking it is.

Thanks Louisa. I guess it is only available through the internet then. Looks like it is going to be a successful one.

Julie sent me three copies of the first one and three of the second one because I was in both. The magazine is black and white, no color, is that what you mean Chickadee? Contributors are suppose to get copies, that was my understanding from J. Gallagher....

Thank you for your congratulations ladies. I recieved my copies and they are black and white. My question is...What I recieved is not an actual "copy" but what anyone would get if they bought one? Same paper etc. Hey I'm not complaining, I think they're done great...I wondered if "copy" was just that...as in photocopy. I wish Julie much success with it. She is a sweet gal.

chick,
What you got, is the magazine. They are done by a printer so each one is in essence, a "copy."

I have one to Brag about my first . I sent and E-mail off to The Thyroid Foundation of American about Volunteering in there office and told them a brief story about my thyroid surgery last year and how well I did .

They e-mailed me back and asked me to write a brief article about my surgery to be published in the newsletter "The Bridge" . How about that !
I did a one page and sending it over to them.
My first non-paying article .

Thanks, Chatty
I sent the copy for word today on my story called "My Thyroid Surgery" . I went off today from word files . I had my daughter to proof read as well checking for commas and what not. She told me it was a good story . Will let you know if it gets published .

I still going to take a writing course . I am so excited . My daughter said it is not often that you asked to write a story for a big newsletter . Keep you posted .

How wonderful for you chick . Keep us posted on how your story goes
