Dianne, I don't know if he was born with that little ear lopsided or injured during his time as a stray.
He is just as laid back and huggable as the picture suggests, at least it does to me.

okay, I think I have it figured out now. Here's a picture of my parrot, Bailey. He flew into our backyard one day and decided to adopt us. He's been with us about 7 months now. He's a Sun Conure.

Chickadee, Benny is deathly afraid of birds and mice but he use to chase chipmunks and squirrels before he became an indoor cat.

When my brother Joe lived in Hawaii in the 70's he had a pet Myna bird.
That bird would imitate his sneezes and would great him with, "Joe you son of a -----!"
Wonder who taught him that!?

Chickadee, I'm still trying to figure out where you visualize that mouse. Okay, I see it now.
Dianne, Benny's leg fur is shorter. His tail is very bushy and all black except for a white bullseye at the tip. He's also got a big black belly spot. The front leg fur is short and the back legs have long fur. Also one side of the buttock is black fur.
Chatty, do you think he was born with that floppy ear? [ November 29, 2005, 10:08 AM: Message edited by: ladybug ]

Dianne, Rob adores Benny and has a full photo file of him. Since he's the one who posted this for me I'll have to wait for him to do any more. I've got absolutely no idea how.

Speakermom,
I used to have a cocker spaniel officially named Bernard T Fife, but we called him Barney. He was the best dog and he was in our family until we had to put him down due to cancer.

Chatty, the black one is a Miniature Pincher. Loves sitting under the couch where the heat vent blows. Let someone knock on the door, she turns into the snarling guard dog, who thinks she's a regular size Pincher.
Bridgett is more laid back...she's more into giving kisses, relaxing and waiting for dinner.

Beautiful parrot and shame on you Dianne for tempting her with a, a parrakeet, of all things!
Every summer here it amazes me how many parrots, especially African Greys go missing. The newspaper has a special area to post missing pets.
Is your parrot's wings clipped? We've got a huge sulphur crested cockatoo at our PetsMart for sale. Everytime I go in there I have to stop by and see him. He's a beauty too and seems very sweet.

I know what you mean Dianne because it breaks my heart to see this same bird week after week after week. His price is $1600.00. I love looking at those sweet, soft-looking round black eyes.

Went there again last night Dianne. He was still there but I noticed he is called an Umbrella Cockatoo, not a sulphur-crested.

Dianne did you ever see the PBS special about parrots? One of the featured birds was an African Grey that could talk and said some pretty unbelievable things. It was especially sweet because the owner was British and the bird sounded British too! It would say, "cup of tea" in a perfect British accent. My daughter and I looked at each other and burst out laughing!
Every now and again PBS shows this particular segment.

I wanted to share some pictures of my fur babies. Alex is the only one I actually brought home with me from the humane shelter. The other 4 found us! I swear there is a sign in my yard that only stray cats can see. It must say something like: home for the strays or if you found this house, you are home! Bluebird, click on this site: http://www.photobucket.comThey will explain what you have to do. Your picture has to be in your computer. From the above site, you can load the picture onto your own private picture page. You have to register, but no strings are attached. Can't wait to see Aspen!

Thanks Chatty. I have that picture enlarged and framed, hanging on my wall. Elsie is a special kitty to me. She was 100% faro...mean as a snake when we meant! It is a long story how we have become friends and I won't bore everyone of that process with every detail.....well, maybe a few details...this is the pet section! I did manage to get her to the vet to be spaded, which I think I need a stiff drink after that ordeal! She tore the wall paper on the wall at the Vet's office by trying to climb it, knocked all the pictures off his wall, knocked stuff off the counters before he was able to get ahold of her. I brought her back home. After about 6 months, I was able to pet her.....just once and quicky before she took a swing at me! Why did I take an interest in that ole mean cat?! Don't know. There was just something about her, and I just love animals. She was a kitten when she came to us and is about 12 years old now and has arthritis and can't climb a tree anynore. She lives in my garage and has a nice heated cat bed to lay on and just about anything else she wants. Now, she is only about 50% faro....and is still mean! But I do love that old wild cat! Don't tell the others....they think they are all #1 too!
