PLEASE please be ever so careful with your pets around TINSEL, it is deadly to them if they eat it, they will strangle before your eyes. There is no way to get at it because it breaks up in their throat...I refuse to have any kind of tinsel in my home...they are like babies with shiny things.

Chatty, please forgive me for putting this here, but it seemed fitting with the "pet" theme going on in here. Lionspaaw just sent me the cutest pictures and article about a baby hippopotamus. It survived the tsunami waves on the Kenyan coast and has formed a strong bond with a giant male century-old tortoise, in an animal facility in the port city of Mombassa, officials said.

The hippopotamus, nicknamed Owen and weighing about 300 kilograms (650 pounds), was swept down Sabaki River into the Indian Ocean, then forced back to shore when tsunami waves struck the Kenyan coast on December 26, before wildlife rangers rescued him.

If anybody wants to see the pic's, just let me know. They are precious! JJ

My daugher Yorkie is named Chibi . I think that is Japanees or chinese not sure . She is so cute . Will have here tomorrow. A little girl yorkie . You would just love her and chatty too.
