Louisa, I have never been to Boston. I'd love to get there one day. I'll let you know when I do. My hubby and daughter were there last summer looking at Curry College. Do you know where that is? She decided not to go there, but she really liked it.

Dotsie, I don't really know that school. It's actually in Milton, about 7 miles from downtown Boston. Sounds like a nice one.

We're going into town Thursday night for dinner and to see Linda Ronstadt at the Opera House. I've been sick. I hope I'm better by then.

Going into the city is so much fun. I hope you are feeling up to it. Concerts are big with boomers. Don't you think?

Oh, and be sure to begin listening to her music this week. And take one of her CD's in the car with you!

I saw her in person once when she was living with Aaron Nevell, they made quite the musical duet!

Sounds like between all the Boomer travels, there should be a fabulous Travelogue presentation down the line.

Oh, I bet you all can't wait to hear about Ada, Oklahoma!!

I'll try to find some interesting stores to share about our journey - but that won't be until September. It WILL be fun to hear of everyone's adventures!

Hey, Ada, Oklahoma is an fun town. It started out as Connors Corners back in the nineteenth century when Oklahoma was Indian Territory and outlaws could hide out from whiteman's laws.

Connors Corners consisted exclusively of a tavern for outlaws. There were so many murders at the tavern that they had their own graveyard out back.

At one time they had a big party and served wild blackberry wine. They fermented the berries and strained the juice. They threw the fermented blackberry seeds into the back yard.

The tavern owners chickens ate the seeds and got drunk. The outlaws drank the wine and got drunk.

The drunk outlaws were having a lot of fun laughing at the chickens bobbing around the yard drunk then one of them decided their bobbing heads would make great target practice so he shot and killed all the chickens.

The tavern owner thought it was great fun too until he began sobering up and realized all his chickens were dead so he shot and killed the guy who shot his chickens.

The partiers buried the chicken killer in the backyard, fried up the chickens, drank the wine, and continued the party.


Ada stole its townsite from a place called Dags Flats, but that's a whole other story. And it is the site of the last hanging in Oklahoma. But that's another story too.

Ada's a fun place.

Wow, how funny! So I should expect this to be a wild wedding.... I'll have to send this story to my sister-in-law that lives there.
