I've had it done twice and they put you out. It takes about 20 minutes. Physically, I'm sure she'll be just fine. Emotionally, she will need lots of support and people to just listen. It is a loss like any other loss, but even more intimate for some women.
Tell her we are all praying for her and lifting her up to the Lord.

Vicki -

Of course I feel soooo bad for your daughter and her husband but I'm very sad for you too --- as the expectant Grandma -- you must be just devistated -- and yet -- you're thoughts are with your daughter -- not wanting to feel like you're being selfish by hurting for YOUR loss -- so you're keeping your "outward" thoughts on your daughter's loss ---- but

I just wanted to address the fact that YOU are hurting too and give you a (((((( HUGE HUG ))))))

So true, lion, and forgive me Vicki for not addressing that, too.

Vicki,

I'm so sorry. I cannot relate in that I'm not a mother nor have I ever been pg., but when my DH's daughter had her m/c (at 11 weeks), I strongly encouraged DH to treat it as a death. WE sent them a sympathy card, flowers etc. We NEVER said to them, "you can try again", or any other non-sympathetic comments. As you know, and sad to say, some couples never conceive again.

This is a death...the death of a dream and hope.

Again, I'm so, so sorry for all of you. (((HUG)))

Vicki, I am so sorry for all of you. I know how you wanted this baby as well. Please relate to your daughter that many prayers around the world are being said for her and your whole family.

Vicki: We're with you, in your pain. A loss is a loss! And nothing replaces it!

Please know that we will keep you covered with prayers for you, your daughter, and the whole family, as you all deal with this sad event.

The Dilation & Curettage is a common procedure, but still, the emotional toll is bigger for some than others.

But know that God cares and sees every single tear. He weeps with you, but brings comfort to each and every saddened heart. "He is not pleased with the death of anyone who dies..."-Ezekiel 18:32.

May His presence be, in your family's life, the rainbow of better days to come and the assurance of His unfailing love for each of you!

Feel His embrace and rest!

Thank you to everyone for your comforting words and prayers. I really appreciate them. We are all going through our own personal loss, but in my heart, my daughter comes first. I want to help her get through this. She's afraid that she'll slip into a depression because of this, so we all must watch her carefully.
