I thought it would be fun to see what creative names your grandchildren call you.

My grandson calls me Mamaw, which many southerners use. He has 4 grandmas and grandpas, so when he need to talk about one of us, he uses our dogs' names. So mine is Mamaw Daisy and my ex's is Papaw JJ. I'm glad I didn't name my dog Rover, or Casper. LOL

One friend who is French uses the French word for grandma, which is meme. (sp?)

I only have 1 grandson, he's two,and he calls me Nonnie. I'm Sicilian so my daughter wanted him to call me the Italian name for grandma. We thought it was Nonnie or Nonna...My husband is PapaJim. His other grandparents are Grammie Pammie (my idea) and Pop Pop.

Yes, I love the sound of it - but sometimes by the end of my grandson's visit, I'm ready to not hear it for a day or 2.

One thing I'm careful of is to never use the words babysit or watch when I have my grandson. I usually call my son and ask if he can visit me.

Not original, but my grandchildren picked them themselves. Grandma Gloria and Grandpa Kraig. LOL They have tons of Grandma's and Grandpa's (some by marriage) and greats also. They chose what is easiest for them to remember.

My only grandchild is only 8 months old and not talking yet but wanted to share my sister's "grandma name."

Her 2 grandchildren call her 'Nana' and her husband is 'PopPop'. My parents, their great-grandparents are 'Nana Old' and 'PopPop Old'. Cute, but my mom doesn't like it, would prefer to just be 'Grandma' like she is with the rest of the grandkids.

I have one grandbeauty, Lea (and another one on the way) and I'm teaching her to call me Big Mamma. Whatever she lands on is fine by me... as long as it isn't BM.

We put Mother's Christmas tree up today and while I was busy handing ornaments on the bottom layers and sitting in the floor, I felt something on my shoulder and turned and Lea had walked over to me and just laid her head on my shoulder. Does it get any better than that?

We are Nanny (or Nan) and Dad-Dad (baby talk for Granddad). The boys all have several grands, and great grands with various names but what surprises me is the way the 3 1/2 year olds already know how each one is related to them! What a joy!

My oldest grandchild started it! He called my Grandma Zona, short for Grandma in Arizona, and the other grandkids picked it up. And yes, whatever they call you sounds so cute coming out of their mouths!

dramma, and Grandma Zona...how precious! I think our grandchildren are more creative than we are, eh? Those names are darling. I have a friend who's name is Nancy, and her grandchildren would get "grandmaw" and "Nancy" mixed up, so it came out Grancy. I love that! Now everybody calls her Grancy.

Lola is what the grandchildren call me. Short for the Spanish form "abuelita". But in my grandson's school the children always address me as "Rhys' grandmother". So, the sentence would always be:
"Good morning, Rhys' grandmother"
"Thank you, Rhys' grandmother" etc etc etc.

Does not bother me because they address my daughter as "Rhys'Mom".
