Sugaree, you can't love a child too much. It is possible to spoil 'em. But no one has ever overdosed on true love.

sug, how are the mom and baby doing? Do they have a support system? I recall she was living with you for awhile. Right?

I babysit my four grandchildren whenever I am able to. My husband and I are the primary caregivers. We get tired but wouldn't have it any other way. My daughter does not work outside the home and if she did we would not care for the children because we believe as a mother she belongs at home with her children.

chichi, I'm confused. Why are you and your husband the primary caregivers if she doesn't work outside the home?

I'm new to the group--but I love this topic. My daughter lives about 2000 miles away from us, but if she were closer, I'd be a nuisance! I love my three grandsons to distraction. If they want to go to see Thomas the Tank Engine, Grandma is making a trip to see them. My daughter asked me to come there to take care of the boys so she could go run a marathon--yep, you guessed it, grandma made the trip and spent a whole weekend with 2 five year old boys. We had a blast.

To me, this is what being a grandparent is all about. Since I never had grandparents, I feel like I'm making up for that lack, and boy, do I ever have a great time doing it.

My husband and I are taking the twins to Disneyland for Christmas and I can't wait! Those little guys keep me young and being a grandma would be even better if I could babysit with them more often!

travelchick, I would love to take my almost 4 yr old grandson to Disneyworld! I'm hoping I can take him to Florida on spring break. My nephew has a swim meet in Ft. Lauderdale so their whole family will be there. It would be his first time to see the ocean and to fly. I may wait another year or 2 to take him to Disneyworld.

I'll check with you before I do.

Daisygirl--I'm a Disney Destination Specialist, so definitely check with me before heading to any Disney destination. I can check on best rates for you. I personally think that you can have a great time at Disney World in Florida with a kid any age (well, maybe not babies up to age 2). 4 years old would be great!

We took our daughter's family to Disneyland for the boys 4th birthday and they still talk about it (one is even planning his next visit not knowing he's going for Christmas--guess he takes after his grandma).
