I gotta ask ya, ladies. Is there anything more beautiful in the world than seeing your daughter in her wedding dress for the first time?

My daughter, Michelle and I went wedding dress shopping today and she found the perfect dress. It is gorgeous and she looks absolutely beautiful in it.

She's getting married in November on Clearwater beach, here in FL.

Between now and then, you're gonna hear a lot about the wedding from me. [Smile]

Vicki, congrats! Was it the first one she tried on? Wait until you see her walking down the aisle. Get out the tissues. I can't wait to hear more.

I'm a little behind you. I went prom dress shopping with my daughter this week.

Michelle tried on about 10 dresses then narrowed it down to three. I went with her to see the 3 dresses and help her find "the one." She tried on her favorite one first for me, and it was the one. It was perfect on her and brought out the beautiful woman she's growing into.

Prom dress shopping is a significant milestone as well. The girls look so grown up.

oops, and Lion, I have to agree. Your DIL was on eof the most beautiful brides I've ever seen. Her dress fit her like a glove. I don't typically think of brides as being sexy, just beautiful. But she was one sexy bride.

I took my daughter shopping for an 8th grade graduation dress and when she put it on we both gasped...she's a lady now! Then I started talking about her wedding and got all gooey!
"Oh mom you must be kidding!" she said. I've been thinking about it since she drew her first breath.

check out this website for a very appropriate song by the New Traditions http://www.new-wedding-traditions.com/daughter.htm. Its called "My Daughter is a Bride" -- bring along the Kleenix!

My Molly is being married in 18 days -- we are truly submerged at this point! The first time I saw her in "the dress" -- well, there are no words. She is 30 years old and waited for just the right guy to come along -- he's just perfect for her. We are very excited and busy! But, thank goodness someone invented The Wedding Planner -- don't know what we would do without her as both Molly and I work full-time. She is worth every penny!

Vicki -- this is such a special time, isn't it!!

Rally, have fun these next few weeks. Remember to breathe!

I was all psyched to hear the song, but the link didn't work.

Kath, I remember my oldest goin to that 8th grade dance. Heck, I remember our big dance when I was in 8th grade. Remember dancing to Jeremiah was a bullfrog? That's the year.

You're right -- the link didn't work. Try http://www.new-wedding-traditions.com and you can maneuver around to get to the words of the song -- I don't think it is actually song on the website...I just like the words...A Song for My Daughter.

A Song for My Daughter...I read the words. That was enough. It's lovely. Do the people who run that site write those songs?

Dotsie -- I think so as they said after their first release "A Song for My Son", they had quite a bit of interest in something for the daughter and so wrote this one.

Vicki - everything makes me a little teary these days!
