Why not. It could turn into the next Golden Girl series.

Chatty, I love the idea of everyone cooperating for safety. Your ideas-lights on and trimming the bushes are great. We all ahould be pro-safety. When people unite for the right reasons, good things happen.

Happy and safe patrolling, Chatty!!

Chatty, can I ride shotgun with you! Reminds me of the days I patrolled air bases during training exercises! I love covert ops!

Wouldn't it be cool if all of us lived near each other? What
a ball we'd have. We could watch each other's back, for sure!

Shared Housing Registry - A group of women in my town are starting a registry of single women home owners who are willing to share accommodations with other single women.

For example, a one bedroom or bachelor apartment could cost $675.00. They are quite small. If a woman gets her own room in a larger home, she can use the whole house, plus enjoy a yard or garden.

The group is just getting started so it will be interesting to see how it goes.

I'm a professional divorced woman. I spend time in Florida in the winter. I visit my son in Europe. House sharing might be a good option for me. I guess it depends on the home and the house mates. Never thought I'd be a Golden Girl...lol.

Kathy
read your post from earlier this month.
Housing needs...in research for genealogy there are many single people in censcus returns who lived as "Boarder" within family homes.Tracing the person back to birth location it can seen that often in Scotland women left the small farming community to work in the city.Men as officers in the emerging police force.
Not being able to afford a whole house they often took one or even two rooms with a family.Teachers often lived like this near a school as their work place.Very often a widow rented rooms to boarders...
One of my ancestors when widowed moved to the city to do this in order to keep her family after a young father fell to his death. The new start in the city meant she stayed in a good area and the teacher and pupil teacher were her means of living.
Like the idea of spending time with your family in Europe as well as your homeland.

so new ways of finding accomodation may not be that new...

Recently I've been hearing about what they call co-housing, or "co-ho," for short. Seems to be the same concept as the shared housing you are talking about, Kathy. I predict we will see more "Golden Girls" sharing homes in the coming years. I just makes sense.
