I was at Target the other day and found a special 2-disc set of Wolfman, starring Lon Cheney. Anybody remember him and his movies? Those old movies are so funny now and many seem really hokie. But I guess at the time, they were big stuff!

And, if anybody is interested, The African Queen is finally out on DVD. I've had it on my Netflix list for ages, and it's finally available.

Oh yes, I remember Lon...sure do. I never latched on to his movies though. Man...that's really going back in time, isn't it?

The African Queen is a classic. Like Casablanca...I love how LOVE was portrayed BACK THEN...even if it was only a movie.

Rhett, Scarlet...hubba, hubba....

Passion...it was alive and well and living in Hollywood!

My favorite movie of all time has been THE AFRICAN QUEEN with Hepburn and Bogart. The scenery and color is amazing, plus the acting is beyond spectacular.

I can't wait to see it again, but I'll probably wait until my partner gets home so we can watch it together. I'm already scouring the internet to see where I can buy a copy.

I certainly do remember Lon Chaney Jr, who scared the dickens out of me with his Wolfman portrayal. lol As did Bela Lugosi playing Dracula. My favorite movie with those two is "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein." It was the only scary movie I could watch without closing my eyes for most of it. lol It seems pretty tame by today's standards....

Ahhhh, the "African Queen." One of the very best!!!!
