I had to hit the drug store today for allergy meds. Seems Shiva has kicked in the allergies.

I asked the pharmasist and he recommended Zyrtek. What do you gals use?

Oh no, you are allergic to the new kitty!? frown There is a safe spray you can put on your pets. It is called Dander-Out made by Earth Friendly Products. It is a safe natural, biodegradable product. Most people are allergic to pet dander and this spray helps with that. As far as people allergy medicine, we take Zyrtec.

Thanks, Cookie. I will try some of the Dander Out.

Chatty, she has bonded nicely with Dennis. She hangs out in his office all day with him. She also sleeps right by his head at night. This, given my allergy, will need to stop, however, unless I find some relief.

ladyjane, you have never seen a bad kitty? Does that go for adult cats, too?

I adore cats.pedigree ferel any cat.BUT last Christmas we cat sat for my son's friend.Whether it was the house change (we went all out to adapt the house) or as I suspect the rearing time spent at the first house it was a disaser.
I believe the initial time a kitten is alive is important. That they are clever little beings.Very quick to tune in.
I have know many cats...this little one did not seem to like anyone...was very clever..wanted to almost fly off the windowsills. launched itself on to my lamp..We had vigils each taking turns.
I hear she is still uniquely troublesome..a flatmate moved out from my sons friend due to the stir all the time.Made me wonder if a cat could be brain damaged.
I work well with litle kittys and this was an eyeopener.I appreciate all cats are different. In fact if all their traits could be put together the cat who had these traits would be cleverer than me..
I would not have a repeat of those few days.

Mountain you may be on to something. A good vet can administer several test that would let someone know if their pet, cat or dog, is mentally challenged. When watching thesse animals there are tell tale signs you'd notice as well. Poor baby he seems to have a problem that is not behavorial.

Anno,
I'm not a cat person, but that kitty you got for Dennis is very cute.

I'm a cat, dog, horse, rabbit, not alligator or snake, person. I adore them and I've said all along that if and when Trixie leaves me to cross over the Rainbow Bridge, (heaven forbid!) I will get a cat and a dog next time. The two will grow up together. Right now, one would make a snack for da Trixster...bad dog! bad!

But your kitty is simply precious! And just where did the name Shiva come from? hmmm? You couldn't name her Queenie? Weeeeeell!

JJ,
Queenie is reserved Da Queen from Alabama! I'm actually a dog,
horse, cow, donkey, Alpaca, and deer person. Hate snakes. Hate
spiders. Shiva probably came from the same place Xenia came from. We changed Xenia to Xena because the girls in the vet's
office couldn't pronounce it! [Xenia, princess warrior] you know!
I've seen kitty, dog friends get along quite nicely, thank you.

I am actually a dog person myself. I am learning to be a cat girl, gotta, I guess.

Shiva (pronounced sheevah) is the Hindi goddess of life and destruction. Both Dennis and I have spent time, seperately, exploring the Hindu Gods and Goddesses. The name seemed to fit.
