I found it finally...I have a bar but nothing that specifically says 'tools'. I poked around so much that I finally found the little sucker

We missed a very important part of your IP - you stated "Word 2007." That makes a big difference. I'm still working with 2003, but have used 2007 on the library's, a daughter's and one of my sister's computers.
I hate the toolbar on 2007, hate it! I'm sure it's workable when you get use to the grouping method, but personally, it's not for me - takes up too much room and isn't user friendly.
If you agree, the toolbar (called the ribbon in W2007) takes up too much room, you can customize...
First, hide the ribbon after opening Word Second, press Ctrl+F1, or double-click the Home tab. The ribbon disappears, but the group tabs will remain, along with the quick access toolbar. When you need to use a command, click the appropriate tab to display the ribbon group where the command is located. To hide the ribbon again, click the tab when you're finished with the command.

If there are commands you use frequently, put them on your quick access toolbar:
    1. Click Customize Quick Access Toolbar button (found @ right of Office button.
    2. Click More Commands.
    3. From the Choose Commands From, click the drop-down arrow
    4. Click All Commands.
    5. Click on the command you want to use.
    6. Click Add
    7. click OK.

I'm glad you found what you were looking for.

Gims...you're such a big help...thanks for your concern and the information. The word 2007 is just a free trial..not sure if I'll keep it or go to something else. 2007 does have a lot of options...it just a matter of going to help and asking the right questions.

Thanks again sweetie!!
