Thanks JJ -- didn't you lose your dad recently?

Dancer, I teach college courses in the communication field, mostly having to do with culture and/or media, as well as research methods.

My feeling is that I need to work through grief and beyond it. I feel that because we have a bond with loved ones who go to the next world, our grief can hinder them, because they're concerned about us too. So, I pray often for my dad.

I lost mine four years ago. I held the grief inside for over a month, never letting anyone see...then the dam broke and I think I cried over a solid hour. My family was concerned for me but it was simply the pent up frustration, anger, and sadness of losing my daddy, my best friend. Yes! Yes! Work through the grief if you are able to do so. I highly recommend it. I was so much more able to deal with the physical loss once I came to terms with it all and knew he never left...not really. His spirit is inside of me.

I'm holding you close, dear friend.

I agree, Jaw Jaw, grieving is needed to balance us.
As much as we hate to do it, it cleanses.
