Shoveling gently with bent knees and concentrating on NOT twisting and heaving the snow too quickly made me grieve for the loss of my strong back of days gone by! However I am still counting my blessings because 2 of my kids were out there with me. There was a time when they couldn't keep up with me. Now it's the other way around. I just realized I shouldn't want my young back again. What am I complaining about? It's a great excuse to let the kids take over!

I called my niece to see how they were doing and she was on a bus trip to New York, but her hubby answered the phone and said that he was getting ready to go out and shovel;he said he was going to introduce the 12 and 14 year olds to shovelling snow. That's when I asked him, "That's why you had them, didn't you??? To shovel snow and mow grass!!" And he said yes!!!
