Di Member Registered: 11/15/05 Posts: 2798 Loc: NM, transplant from NJ	We always add our homemade porridge to our dog food..AND catfood, too! It really gives them some nice, warm food for winter. Although they get it all year. The recipe: A large potful of chicken broth (from REAL chicken, not a jar) 2 cups of long grain (not instant) rice...then boil until rice is mushy. Then add some cornmeal, whole wheat flour and mush around either with a stick blender or a whisk until it's nice and porridge-looking. Then add a tablespoon of garlic powder(wards off ticks and excellent for their heart). Plus, adds flavor. WALLAH! Healthy, nutritional doggie porridge. chatty lady Writer Registered: 02/24/04 Posts: 20267 Loc: Nevada	Di, your recipe sounds like a good one but you might want to add some 'vegetable' powder or real veges and instead of garlic powder, use real mashed up bulbs of garlic.
