These goals are part of my one page business plan objectives.

Create 10 new profitable JVs by 6/08
Double the number of other business owners on "my team" by 3/08

----------------------
I have just done a JV with an online service business owner (strategist, coach and trainer, just like me) whose ideal clients are my ideal client. And even though we have the same ideal clients, our specialties are different. I'm the planner, stream-liner, resource queen He's the ad, sales, direct mail specialist.

What we did, was send a solo ad to each others subscribers that was linked to a promotional page with gifts in return for them subscribing to our ezines. We each have 2500 subscribers. In one week, I received 250 new subscribers and new ones keep coming in even after two weeks. Same thing happened to his list.

And he and I noticed some patterns that we hadn't seem before. Like a majority of my subscribers live on the west coast (where I live although I'm a long time NYer) and are woman. Most of his subscribers are men, and live on the east coast, where he lives).

If things go as they have gone, we'll do a bunch of other things, and possibly he'll become one of my team members. (My team is made up of other business oweners who work with my ideal clients and who do not do anything that I do. My goal is to have 3 team members in each important area -- like three business lawyers, three copywriters, etc )

Next we're working on promoting an ebook to each others list using our affiliate links.

I'm having such a great time doing this and watching my ezine grow, which I cleaned out a while ago, grow again with pre-qualified subscribers! And I'm looking forward to the $ coming in from this venture, too.

-----------

I'm betting that there are many other business owners on this BB and on the web whose specialty has something to do with providing a service or product to either business owners or independent professionals working in the financial services arena (from financial planners, to insurance brokers, to book keepers). Your clients would have to be in business at least 3 years (5 is best), live in the USA, and their desire is to build a business investment (I don't work with the self-employed. Nothing wrong with the self-employed, I do have them as clients from time to time, however, my clients have bigger goals - like 500,000 to 20 million in sales now or at some point in the future)

-----------

So I'd like your help in two ways.

1) If you already work with my ideal clients, I'd love to talk with you, join your blog or ezine or both. I'm big on developing an off line relationship to see if we're a good match for a JV. The JV I mentioned above took 3 months to develop. (mainly because we both understood that when we recommend someone and it doesn't work out, it's our reputation that gets stomped on)

2) If you know of web sites that have my ideal clients, I'd love to know about them. Like I just found a site that sells postcards geared to my ideal client! Pretty kewl.

And I'll add a third way you can assist me....
3) I'm open to your ideas. I know that people who read this post will see things I don't. OR you'll have some ideas of your own. And I'm all for receiving what you have to share!

-----------

Thanks so much for being willing to assist me.

Who are your ideal clients, and what type of offer would you send? I am very protective of my email list because I'm afraid if I send too many emails they'll hate it and unsubscribe. Let me know...

Thanks for your offer of information. I don't think that your product would go with my ezine as they're not necessarily boomers. But for those who are reading this, and have a business product that might fit, here is my ICP.

Are you like Theresa?

Ideal Client Profile #1 Individual Client

Theresa is a Corporate America "refugee" who owns a business with sales of between $250K - $20M
dollars (or that's what she wants to create). She's between the ages of 35 and 55, is in the financial
services or technology fields, or has a service oriented business, and has always been driven to aim
higher and achieve more than those around her. Two to ten years ago, she started a business that is
now small to mid-sized or she manages a branch office that draws on her career experience and/or
passion.

However, Theresa currently feels like a business slave instead of a business owner, overwhelmed with
all she is already doing to run and grow her business. She is not focused and has so many ideas
coming at her that she's not sure what to do next. Chances are that she's realizing that she's doing lots
of things "ass backwards" and she's ready to stop working the way she has (usually putting out lots of
fires). She knows that in its current state, her business it is more like a job she created for herself, that
her company could not run without her, and that it would be hard to sell because it's not "turn-key."

She's is very sure that the profits could be much higher, and she wants to spend her business time
doing only what work she enjoys. She is tired of feeling like the Lone Ranger and of having little
support for her position as CEO, president, branch manager, principal, etc.
Theresa understands the importance of leveraging her time, money, and expertise. In fact, her longterm
goal to reach financial freedom usually includes these highlights:
 Becoming a multi-millionaire.
 "Looking" like a big business without becoming a gigantic enterprise.
 Doubling or tripling the company's sales.
 Employing 25-50 contractors, consultants, employees, independent professionals.
 Taking lots of time off -- without it affecting the bottom line.
 Having an Internet presence to create additional streams of income.
 Selling her business, sometime in the future, to fund her retirement, start a new business or notfor-
profit, become a philanthropist, investor or has some other big audacious goals in mind!

Theresa has realized that - try as she has - she can't reach her goals all by herself. Her own efforts to
this point have probably included wasting a lot of money, purchasing various training products, hiring or
bartering with the wrong people, and marketing or networking in ways "because they're cheap to do."
Although she has not yet achieved the results she knows she can achieve, and is a bit wary about
hiring an strategist and coach, Theresa still yearns for a successful business -- by her own definition -
and is looking for someone who can partner with her to double her income while enjoying life to the
fullest.
A few other things about Theresa:
She could actually be a "Terrance" or sell a product.
She's concerned about the environment and usually drives a Toyota or Honda or wants one.
She's doesn't consider herself a good marketer or networker or good "at business".
She is ready to overcome any "fears" or "doubts" she has about business or success.
She's a volunteer in an area she's passionate about, most likely on a few boards.
She could be single, married or be a stay-at-home mom or dad.
She's ready to understand that excuses are just challenges waiting for new answers.

Theresa is ready – no committed -- to "bite the bullet" and move outside her comfort zone to -- to find
competent, trusted, advice. She is ready to honestly discuss her personal, business, and financial
circumstances and objectives.

Recognize yourself?

quo, "Get Started" now at http://www.ElevatingYourBusiness.com

It might be useful to understand the "tenor" of this forum, elevating when it comes to getting women like us on the forum who do tend to be literate and critical.

It doesn't surprise me that your subscibers are primarily men. Just the style of expression of your ad would attract men.

I'm making a sweeping statement, but most of us wouldn't be here on this forum, if we didn't have skills to surf the Internet, write sentences and opine about issues good and bad --in writing.

I dunno about others, but as a half-joke most of us would want to be a multi-millionaire...but more realistically just to be comfortably wealthy on our own terms until we die without worrying about food, roof, transportation, health care and clothing.

There is a Canadian female financial planner writer, Joanna Yaccato who has written books specifically for women and on financial planning. She originally comes from the finance world before she went the author route. She also has written an semi-academic text about how people misread marketing to women.

For instance, as soon as you tell me about promises to become a multi-millionaire, I get turned off.

I subscribe to some free management newsletters which are quite good on a range of business topics for both private sector and non-profit sectors/industries.

It might be more useful just to hang out with us for virtual coffees with no intent on your part to sell us anything.

For instance, please give me your opinion why now the Canadian dollar is so strong almost on par with the U.S. dollar. Is the U.S. economy strong on job creation right now? Is it safe to invest in biotech companies? And what is a hedge fund?

For elevating: I'm more than happy to hear some hard-hitting financial world /investment opinions. Not just big dreams. I should mention that I worked for one of the big 5 (now 4?) accounting international firms for a few years..in the area of tax law. One of the things I had to teach accountants and lawyers, how to do research (on fee-based databases, not freebies) on financial news, stocks/securities and internal developments on firms... So if I sound jaded....I came from a firm with big talking consultants, tax planners... for commercial and individual clients (millionaires) who had bucks to pay for such advice. It was a good firm with talented people, some like yourself.

Don't understand some audience members here, elevating. Be with us,,,girl. Who are you, as a woman, comrade, chick?
