Well, we're in Montreal, at hubby's daughter's house. Rather boring so far. Hubby's working his way through a long list of "Daddy-chores" that his daughter's been needing to have done around the house. I started reading Joseph Girzone's book "Portrait of Jesus" this morning, and am looking forward to reading more - he's such an awesome writer (thank you Dotsie!)

But there isn't much to do around here. Not even any interesting things to eat! Lots of expired stuff in the fridge, though, some growing interesting colours. Hmmm. I suppose I could go clean some of that out...but I'd rather be right here at BWS right now.

We're meeting her for lunch at noon, then doing some shopping and then going out for supper at one of my all-time favourite restaurants. It's an Asian-type restaurant with a "Tasting" menu. Each person in the party pays about $14 and then you can order as much as you want off the menu - sort of like a buffet, but we get to choose what we want in that buffet. We'd always wanted to bring Gary here, since it would be exactly the sort of thing he'd love to experience; so when we knew we were coming to Montreal, we agreed that we'd have to go tonight and toast Gary with some exquisite shrimpy things.

I enjoy traveling, but not sitting around in someone else's house with nothing to do (most of the TV programs here, as well as magazines and newspapers are in French).

Oh well, if worst comes to worst, I'll just clean out that fridge. How tantalizing a thought. Fuzzy green mystery meat anyone?

lol Eagle...maybe if you wait long enough the green fuzzy things will walk out by themselves.

Can you go out for a nice walk around there Eagle? That must be better than cleaning out a mouldy refrigerator...Hey, this is supposed to be your v-a-c-a-t-i-o-n! Have a delicious time at that restaurant. Sounds enticing.

Eagle, is it getting any better? Can you venture out on your won while he's doing the Daddy chores? How's the book coming? Isn't it neat to think of Jesus in the here and now?

We went out to browse the dollar store, bought some stuff for our garden back home. Then we checked out the restaurant, half an hour early, and noticed a lot of reserved tables. So we went in and asked, and ended up sitting there for half an hour sipping wine, because it was the last table available. If we had arrived five minutes later, we wouldn't have been able to eat there.

So we sipped good white wine and chatted until hubby's daughter joined us. Good meal, good company, good wine - now it's time for a nap - we're just waiting for her new air conditioner (which we bought for her in Ottawa and installed for her yesterday) to cool down the upstairs (it's brutally hot here today).

Dotsie & Hannalore, I'm still just not up to taking walks on my own, especially in an unfamiliar neighbourhood where nobody speaks English (we're actually not right in Montreal, but a small village about an hour's drive away.) It's VERY hot here during the day, and too many mosquitos as soon as the sun goes down.

Between BWS and my new book (and she has spider solitaire on her computer too!) I think I'll do fine here. We have lots of errands planned for tomorrow and Sunday.

There will be more to do once we get to Quebec City on Monday. Hubby's brother owns a really neat flea market store, which requires lots of browsing and trying out the new stuff he gets every day. And we usually play LOTS of cards throughout the day when we visit with there too.

I'm just glad I'm able to hang out here (on BWS) while here (outside Montreal).

Eagle, what kind of cards do you play. Sign up on Party Poker and we can play together. I love Montreal and wish I was there to walk with you.

I'm guessing Eagle is shopping in the flea market and playing cards. There musn't be internet access or else we'd be hearing from her.
