Yonuh,
I know how you feel . I lost my mother of March 5th,2006 of Alz disease , she was 94 years old . It was a very hard year and I miss her very much at times i was depressed , but came though it with the help of friends on here and friends on the Alz web site .

I look back and next March it will be one year and I made it . You mother will always be in your heart . At times I felt like an ophan , because mother and dad were both gone , but I have lots and lots of friends and that helps .

My thoughts and prayers are with yu in this time of loss,of you mother .

Blessings,

Renee

Your love and prayers have helped a lot and I thank you for that. I have been operating on little sleep but lots of energy. I'm afraid that if I stop I'll just collapse. Once everything is taken care of, I'm going to go to the spa for a facial, massage, maybe the whole works. I've been taking care of mom for 8-9 years, and now it's time for me.

I'm so angry at my brother for being out of the picture. But I didn't really expect he would have done anything even if he were around. When my dad died, he sent his wife to my mom's and had the gall to call me to ask if she could bring their two-year-old grandson, on a 23 hour bus ride, for a funeral, because they were babysitting and I can only think that he didn't want to be bothered taking care of the child while she was gone.

Anyway, knowing that all of you are here for me has really helped. A heartfelt thanks to all of you.

I am so happy to hear that you are taking care of yourself. Don't waste energy on your brother. Focus on yourself and the wonderful gifts you and your mother had together.
In loving thoughts, Ann

After 8 or 9 years, I'd say it is definitely time for YOU. It is sad when loved ones pass, but knowing they are still with us (I truly believe this, based on experiences I've had), helps. Take care of yourself.
Blessings and (((hugs)))).

I'm sorry for loss of your mother.
As for your brother, you can't help him much though most likely it is affecting him negatively in some manner some how. He'll figure out his loss (meaning not dealing properly with his grief) years later.

Yonuh, I can't imagine caring for your mom all those years. Wow. You are very dedicated. It should be fun to see how you choose to use your free time now that you will no longer be caring for Mom. I'm praying for you because I recall that void after Mom died. We're here if you need us. Many of us have been through it.
