I have a version of the bible done by TD Jakes called the "Woman thou art loosed" version. In it he emphasizes women's spirituality. Today I read this marvelous piece that he wrote about not allowing satan to steal our passion. He said that what sets women apart is our hearts and our incredible passion for life, for love, for family.
He said passion seeps out "like air from a slow leaking tire" when we allow ourselves to become overwhelmed. He said that God loves our hearts and our passion. He cited Proverbs 4:23 which says "Keep your heart with all vigilance for from it flow the springs of life." So let us embrace our passionate hearts, but turn a little of that passion inward....love ourselves, take a break when we are threatened with being overwhelmed, and look to God who loves our hearts.

Kathryn, I love that blurb from your devotional Bible. I agree that we should embrace our passions and use them to serve others. Thanks for sharing that with all of us.
