I'm putting this post under Blessings because I feel blessed to be a 10-year survivor. And in honor of that 10 years, this is the first year I'm collecting pledges. The Race is next Sunday September 28 but pledges will be collected until October 17.

I've created a page on the Komen site where you can donate.
www.ockomen.org/race/meredithlaskow

And oh yeah -- I got a raffle going on too, but you gotta read the stuff to find out more. wink

Congrats on being a survivor, Meredith. Hope you have a great time at the race. Be sure to wear all your flashy pink jewelry so all the people can oooh and ahhh over it;)

And what a blessing you are to us! A shining beacon in our lives.

Congratulations, Meredith! I have been so blessed by your presence in my life, and thank God for allowing our paths to cross.

Meredith, I would love to donate...is it possible to do so through PayPal?

Thanks Eagle Heart and Adornments Milani! Eagle, I checked with Komen and they don't accept Paypal. Credit card or checks only.

BTW, for anyone donating checks by mail -- on your check, in the lower left-hand space for memos, please write in "M. Laskow, team 181" so the pledges go to my page.

Thank you!

Can I send the check directly to you Meredith? Is there an amount it must be for? What a wonderful endeavor.

Chatty, yes you can, or you can send it directly to Komen.

Mailed Donations Should Be Sent To:

Susan G. Komen for the Cure
Attn: 2008 OrangeCounty Race for the Cure
P.O. Box 131314
Carlsbad,CA 92013

again, with M. Laskow, team 181 in the bottom left.

ALL money goes to Komen, so there's not a minimum amount you can send. Any money for the cure is $1 closer for all of us.

Also, you can request that your donation appears as "anonymous" if you don't want your name on the scroll. If you still want to be in the raffle, choose something like "anonymous 123" and then write me so I'll know who you are.

If you'd like to donate but don't care about the raffle, you can request that your prize (if you win) be donated to a local womens shelter.

Eagle Heart and others, I called Komen today and they said they don't take Paypal because the website hosting package sets everything up and didn't include it.

If you don't like to use credit cards online and want to send a donation to me using Paypal:
1. Decide the $ amount you want to give.
2a. If in the USA, add 3% (on $20, that's 60cents)
2b. If out of the US, add 4% (on $20, that's 80cents)
3. Add other 30 cents and round up to the nearest $.
4. My paypal account is meredkl-ivil ((at)) yahoo ((dot)) com

This will cover my paypal fees. I'll then send your pledge with my credit card.

I just found out -- the website doesn't take pledges under $15. I got some cash pledges for $10 and combined 2 names for the donor roll.
