Hi, All! I'm a Newbie, but DEFINITELY not new to FMS! Lately, I have become aware of how much the pain affects the depression, and vice-versa!
My hubbie has been transferred; I feel SO threatened by the idea of moving again! I thought there might be one or two before I hit the age of being too old to weild a hand truck! But, here we go again! Oh well! This time, I am hiring a couple of teens to help pile things in boxes and drag 'em out! Any other suggestions will be appreciated!
Anybody found any new medicines that help a lot?

Welcome, Vander! I'm sure there's someone on this forum that can share their experiences.

I know what you mean about moving. My husband says he never wants to move again. I, however, don't mind moving because it's my opportunity to clean everything out and start all new and fresh.

Looking forward to getting to know you better!

Kathy

Welcome Vander. I hate moving and feel for you! But maybe you can come here and let off some stream, or just come and relax after the hard move. Good luck with it all. The only advice I can offer is labeling your boxes with a sheet of paper that tells the contents. This helps so much when you're taking things off the truck to haul into the house. Have the room, and contents labeled. This way you can see if it's something that can be set aside till later, or needs to be unpacked right away. It also lets you know what can be stored and left unopened.

Hi Vander, I have fibro too. I take Cymbalta. It really helps with the pain. Reducing the stress helps a lot. Although with a move coming up, you probably are under a bit of stress.

Moving. Argh. I hope I never have to do it again.

What worked for me was getting a "map" of the new house layout and giving each room a different color label. Then, while I was packing, each box got a colored label coordinated with each room and a sequential number. All the boxes were numbered and kept on a master list. When it was time to move into the new place, I placed a copy of the layout of the house with a different colored label for each room. That way the movers knew which room to put each box. It reduced a lot of the "where do you want this box?" questions.

Vicki, that's a great idea! I'll remember that the next time I move.
