Some or maybe most of us knows someone affected strongly by the season and the lack of sunlight. This is a time of giving, of ourselves if possible. See these people, spend time with them, try to brighten their days. More suicides are reported every year between the months of September to March....Feel good about yourself and be someones sunshine this season....

There are a few of us here on this forum who are affected by the shorter days (less sunlight). This can be a tricky time, especially for anyone prone to chronic depression or anxiety. Thank you for thinking of us and mentioning that, Chatty. I try to soak in as much sunlight as possible during the day, but on dreary rainy days, it's more difficult - being here at BWS helps! And remembering all the kindnesses shown here (I'm especially mindful of your kindness to my brother and myself lately, Chatty) to each other shines enough light to diminish the gloom!

Hi, Chatty: Thanks for the nudge. Yes, we do have to do our best by others, especially the eldery. Those who live alone are the most prone over the winter months here. The high cost of fuel make many of them scrimp on central heating and some live through the long cold days being exactly that...cold. Extremely cold.

You can buy lights for SAD. I had one in Ohio as we wouldn't see the sun for four months at a time. It didn't really help me tho so I guess I wasn't blue from the lack of sun but having to live in that awful town for nine long years.
