Do you use the internet to diagnose yourself or loved ones?

Yes, and it really isn't a good idea.

for normal conditions, self diagnosis may not be a good idea. But by looking on the internet, I was able to diagnosis Dennis over a year earlier than his 'official' diagnosis.

If we hadn't known to ask the correct questions when we went to his doctors, he may never have been diagnosed.

I've never really tried to self-diagnose myself online. Takes too much effort. smile Seriously.

I prefer to be diagnosed what I have by a doctor, etc. and then, search the Internet for supplementary info. Cuts down me the idiot, winnowing out the extraneous info.

Yes, I do. We have the NHS Direct which we could consult online for symptoms. It also offers further telephone consultations with nurses on duty who advise accordingly and appropriately.

Ladies, thanks for all the great comments. IF any of you have the time, would you kindly place them on the blog? THat would be most helpful.

Lola, I think we're gettign there in the US. PArt of the segment was about doctors doing virtual visits.

orchid, I don't know many boomers who don't go online and Google symptoms before calling the doctor.

Louisa, Ross recently diagnosed me with Trigeminal Neuralgia. I read what he printed for me, but was afraid to go searching for more information. Sometimes it can freak us out.

Anno, I'm not surprised. You are so on the ball.
