I just had to tell you gals my great news. My first book, "Widowhood Is Not Funny" is now available in electronic format (instant download). I know I should probably post this in Bragging Rights, but this is the forum I've been hanging out in since this journey began, and it's your support and encouragement that kept me going, writing and pushing forward with this project. If you'd like to take a peek, go to:
http://www.lulu.com/content/e-book/widowhood-is-not-funny/8505174

Thanks again for always being there when I needed to talk or moan and groan. My "pity parties" always ended on a positive note, thanks to you gals.

Alanna

Here's the intro:
Widowhood Is Not Funny

Widowhood comes suddenly and painfully into a woman’s life. One minute you’re married, and in a single heartbeat, you find yourself alone and lonely. Despite the pain and anguish, you must realize you’re not through with life on this planet. It’s time to finish the race, to pick up where your husband left off.
Grief is personal. Every woman must find her own path to a new life, new purpose and new happiness. But all must navigate their way through the minefield of emotions that the loss of your life partner can bring you to.
This is a guidebook to help you navigate that minefield and make it through to the other side. Inside you will find the sensible, practical advice only another widow can give, in a no-nonsense, get it done, you can do this approach.
Take a deep breath, and say goodbye to the past, then turn around and face your future!
When it comes to grief,it takes as long as it takes!...

Click the link above to read the rest.

Congratulations. What an accomplishment.

Fantastic Copygal, this is so appropriate too for the women I know who are newly widowed. I will pass on the title to them...

Thank you everybody for your kind words and wishes. I appreciate each and every one of you. Your encouragement kept me going when it was very difficult to face that page each day and keep writing. I thought losing my husband was the hardest thing I'd ever done, but writing about losing him was almost as bad. It was something I had to do, for myself and other widows who need a voice. I wanted them to know they're not alone, they will make it through this painful journey and there is joy to be found on the other side.
Thanks again; you gals are the best!

Alanna (aka Copygal)

P.S. Queen Jaw Jaw, I'll take you up on that offer, and thank you so much.
