While on my trip back home, my next-to-older sister did my "colors", based on the Color Me Beautiful program. We checked out an older book from the library. I was amazed at the results!

Granted, my sister had her "colors" done years ago (and paid for it) but she discovered that I am an "autumn". ALL these years I've been buying the wrong colors in clothing!

Day 1: We trekked to the second-hand store with high hopes of finding all SORTS of new clothes. We only found ONE burnt orange tank top.

Day 2: Went to Kohls (never been there but it's now my favorite store!!) and we found all SORTS of fun colors that match me! My sis was nice enough to buy come outfits for her younger sister!

Day 3: Went back to Kohls and, using their eye shadow, blush and eye pencil samples, sis made me up! I was absolutely amazed at how fresh I looked! Cannot tell you the last time I purchased/wore eye shadow. I do occasionally wear blush but recently learned I've been using the wrong shade. Instead of rose, I need peach.

The eye shadows were in teal and peach. I never dreamed of using those colors.

After all this and when I got home, I looked through my wardrobe and found 95% of my current wardrobe is WRONG! Gone will be the blacks/navys/pink/whites/lime greens/greys. Need to be adding dark browns, corals, tans, rusts, teal, golds etc.

I'm ready for a new, fresh "me!"

Anyone else have their "colors" done and were shocked??

Never did the color thing but have known people who have and they look fabulous! I'm down to capri's and tops, mascara and lipstick...and the ever southern flop-flops.

I remember when this was a rave thing to do. My oldest daughter and I had it done by a friend, never for pay, so we probably received a skimpy version of the program. My colors have probably changed with my age. Since we're in a new season of life, heehee, and season colors change, stands to reason our colors might change too.

I asked about hair color, Gims. My sister told me that we need to go by our "original" hair color.

But, I also realize that they have updated the color scheme. No longer using Seasons, so I need to find out about that. I know I looked "washed out"...my skin is wrinkling, my hair is graying and, living in the southwest, the skin could REALLY look alligator-like if it were not for shea butter!

DH thinks that I should still wear black/navy etc...just add contrasting colors.

I certainly won't get rid of all my clothes!! But some NEED to go. Now I have a good reason if I was teeter-tottering on a certain article!

Dee, have you seen those darling flip-flops by Yellow Box that have the PEACE symbol on them? To die for; but oh so hard to find!

Di, I am going to have to break down and try the shea butter. How many ounces are in the bulk container? and how in the world does one decide on what fragrance to add... they all sound (read) delicious!?

About the graying hair, and changing skin tones, I still look relatively good in the smoky greens, mauves and melons, but on some days I feel washed out enough that no color helps, not even reds. It'd be interesting to hear about the changes they've made to the system. Maybe there is a boomer factor, now.

I'm telling ya, that chick is a research whiz... I looked all over Zappos and couldn't find them. Zappos (all online stores should be like Zappos) will find them in other stores for you, if they don't have them in stock - one reason to look there first.
