Here's sharing something I hope helps us focus!

This is a simple test:

IF YOU LOVE JESUS, SENDTHIS TO AT LEAST 10 PEOPLE, INCLUDING
THE PERSON WHO SENT IT TO YOU!
!
The Poem
I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.....
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God! held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time"
Now do you have the time
to pass it on?

Joy
I live in my own little world.
But it's OK... They know me
Here!
~~~~
May we take time for the things that count!
Sincerely, Rhodi
This is so sad. Wow.
Do you beleive that if you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, but don't always have time for Him, that He would say this?
Looking forward to this conversation.
He would have every right to. If He's your Lord and Savior (truly) you will make time for Him.
Our Lord has every right to punish us for so many things. So many times when we didn't take time for Him, so many times when we passed Him by, the times we injured His children even ourselves. So many times we went astray.
But instead of the punishment we deserve, to save us, his imperfect and sinful children, He gave his Son, His life, His perfection. Then in love, when He ascended to heaven, He sent His spirit, the spirit of love, to comfort us.
All because of his overwhelming love for us.
So instead of chastising us, even if our name is not in his book, He will smile and say, "Welcome, my beloved child, come inside."
My God isn't a punishing God. He is a forgiving God. That's why I had a hard time with the ending.
Now if someone had been introduced to Him and flat out denied Him, then that's a different story.
I have found a way to keep Christ in my heart all day and night. I always pray first thing in the morning then no matter what I'm doing during the day I say softly a thank you for this or that whatever I am involved in. Even for the sunshine or the rain, or a bird fluttering about, or an idea I have, anything. I say a prayer while making dinner and even stop and pray when someone here asks for prayers. Then I continue on and the night thank you's take over. It is the simplest thing to do, to keep Christ in our thoughts,hearts and minds. It becomes habit very quickly. I would feel naked without him, like going out the door undressed... [Roll Eyes]
I have that good habit, too. I have to pray for
a bit after getting up in the morning. Then I go
about my day knowing that whatever happens, it was
surely meant to be : )
Dear Dotsie: I posted this cause I thought it would help us keep focused on what God expects from us.
But regarding your concern with the ending of this poem, many christhians don't realize that yes, our God is a Father of love. Still, the day will come when each one will have to render an account to Him.
Ecclesiastes 12:14 tells us- "God is going to judge everything we do, whether good or bad, even things done in secret" (Good News Bible).
He forgives us if we confess our sins- I John 1:9.
Song, I totally get it. I was just throwing out some food for thought.
I know I will be judged, but I also know there's a room prepared for me in heaven because that's part of the promise.
My heart's desire is to keep living up to the grace of that room.
I know it isn't by good deeds that I get it, but making the choice for Christ empowers me to want to be more like Him (which is pleasing to Him now and in the end).
