I didn't know where to post this, so I hope here is ok. I need some help....quickly!!

Does anyone know how to get rid of the smell of bad fish from my refridgerator? My hubby brought home some fish which went off overnight in the fridge and I can't get rid of the smell! I've scrubbed it out with various bleaches, cleaners, disinfectants, etc half a dozen times, and it still stinks!! I took the fridge apart and cleaned everything....argghhhh...this is driving me crazy! I cut a lemon in half and put it in there but it had no effect.

Does anyone have any ideas?? Please!!!

I'd make my husband buy me a new fridge....short of that, baking soda?

Here are a couple of articles I found by doing a google search:

http://ezinearticles.com/?How-to-Get-Rid-of-Fish-Smell&id=551078

http://www.bishfish.co.nz/answers/fishsmell.htm

There are many more, and if you want to pursue them, just put in "how to get rid of fish smell" on Google and see what comes up!

Hope this helps.

Try Febreez, that stuff is wonderful. I took a case of both kinds, the regular spray and the air freshener to the kennels at the SPCA so now they smell so fresh and clean. Lots of dogs, some sick, makes for bad aromas...BUT this FEBREEZ stuff works really well.

My MIL was addicted to Febreeze. Sorry, but I don't like that stuff. It makes me sneeze.

Febreeze may make some sneeze, but that stuff works on odors and works fast...
If you do use bleach you have to dismantle the whole frig. Take out the shelves, drawers and scrub down the entire inside with soapy bleach water. Then do the shelves and the drawers, the bottoms too. Some fish juice may have dripped...Leave the door open to air out while it drys and then hit it with the febreeze before putting it back together Oh, and a box of Arm & Hammer wouldn't do any harm inside either when all finished.

Two things you might try.

Crumple up a newspaper and put it in the fridge.

Then put a box of baking soda in it.

Go to or call your local auto parts store, or maybe even a ma&pa appliance store - I bet they get the same question all the time.
