Great article TVC. There is nothing like fresh vegetables, and they don't come any fresher than from your own backyard.

This year I tried table top gardening and I bought one grape tomato plant for $1.67 and I have picked four soup bowl sized batches.

I also pick a few in the morning when I take my dogs out to run.

Thanks Jersey Girl! I love love love home grown tomatoes. They are the best! My Dad bought a gadget that makes the plants hang upside down. If it works for him, I'll try it next year. I had never seen anything like it before!

Robin: I enjoyed your article. My husband planted a small veggie garden. We have very limited space but it's so interesting to see how they grow! Thanks for sharing this info!

A small garden is better than no garden Songbird! You'll be surprised how much produce you can get out of a small garden!
Thanks for reading my article!

TVC, when is the latest time of year to plant tomatoes? There is a late planting to have fall fruit, am I right?Anyone do two plantings per year?

Your Dad's gadget? What is it's purpose? Just wondering. Your site is my kinda place.

Chick,
My Dad is selling his house and he wasn't going to plant tomatoes this year until he found this hanging planter thingy. He mostly wanted it so that he can take his tomato plants with him.

I've never tried the double planting with tomatoes. My opinion is that July is a little too late to start them but I'd check with your local gardening center in your area. I don't know things might be different where you live.

Thanks for checking out the article!
PS: I'm going to look into the double planting thing, it might be a good idea for another article!
