Di Member Registered: 11/15/05 Posts: 2798 Loc: NM, transplant from NJ	Just this afternoon, DH took my tower outside, opened it up and turned on the leaf blower to clean it. He said it's amazing that so many do not know what ONE SPEC of dust can hurt! It looked like Herman Munster's house when he started the task. I mean...BAD! It only took seconds. The fans suck air IN to help keep the insides cool, but also suck in dirt. So, roll up your sleeves, ladies, and get out your leaf blowers. It's worth it. Dont' blow directly on each part...just stay far enough away to blow out the junk. The tower stopped "laboring" cuz I could here it trying to operate with all that dirt! Call your tech guy and ask. I have a low profile keyboard, now, so nothing much gets caught, but when I had an older issue, it was amazing the gunk that a good tap would produce. I've not puff-sucked (never blow) this new computer, yet. I kept the sides off of my prior unit, to make easy access for switching hard drives (I use more than one). DH (in IT) has a computer vac, which makes it so easy. It has this detachable aardvark nose on it and gets into the smallest of places... the bag fills up quickly, though, so I can't use it for household duties... that's a DARN IT.
