jabber Member Registered: 02/17/05 Posts: 10032 Loc: New York State	Three times, just recently our DSL modem has not worked. Naturally, it cuts out just before a long, vacation weekend. We call and they say, "You'll have to wait till Monday." I don't even know how to blog, but don't have the time for that right now, anyways. Incidentally, the Internet Server repairman has been here 3 times, and he can't fix the intermittent connection. We told the company it was their lines. But do they listen? No! Ciao for now... Eagle Heart Member Registered: 03/22/05 Posts: 4876 Loc: Canada	Bonnierose, we were having problems with intermittent connections and flakey Internet access soon after the ISP techs came and rewired the basement for DSL. It took several calls to finally convince them to come in and check their wiring...turns out that when they installed the lines, they were somewhat careless - the intermittent problems were caused by staples going through the wires!! Once they took all the staples out and reattached them properly, everything worked well, and we haven't had any more problems since (going on two years now). It couldn't hurt to ask that they check for staples in the wires...who would ever think it could be something so simple??? _________________________ When you don't like a thing, change it. The only original diagnosis was that it wasn't our modem or connecting equipment. So because it went out right before a holiday -- SBC (our provider) said they only had skeleton crews the next few days blahblahblah. So when the DSL was mysteriously working again today, El Hub called SBC with our case # and asked what they had done to fix it. And guess what? -- tech help didn't know! Gee, that's so useful. Makes me wonder if they ever know what's going on.

I recently got a postcard from Bright House telling me that the download speed has been increased at no charge. Since then my compute has been slower.
