They were actually his from a previous marriage and she makes them call her Mrs. Barrett..not mom, not her first name which is June, but Mrs. Barrett, and they have been her steps for several years already. And even then they did not know I'd be there stepmother until AFTER the wedding. long story! On the other hand calling him Mr. DeMik would have been worse. I think kids should be given the choice. Let them call you whatever they want. As long as it's respectful.
