Never heard of cocoa mulch before this morning. Hevyn Unregistered	Jabber, we meet again....thanks for this info.! I was searching for something to use as ground cover for my dog's play yard, and thought of mulch. Will be sure to stay away from this. (They've killed all the grass.)

I wish manufacturers would not produce stuff that's deadly to cats and dogs. Geese. The poor animals have such elevated smell senses. And they don't know any better. If a company knows the product kills, stop making it and make a replacement. If they're smart enough to come up with an invention, surely they're smart enough to replace it with a harmless commodity. Most manufacturers don't care and put stuff out even after it has been mercilessly tested on poor animals with negative effects. Thats a fact too!!! Like that Swifter Wet Jet cleaner for floors. And that nose of hers gets into everything. I think the cocoa smell attracts animals and then, of course, they have to eat it. Guess the answer is to research whatever you're planning on using. It's hard to know what to do because one person will say something is non toxic, but after extensive research, someone else says a specific item is indeed poisonous.
