One of our Blue Heelers cannot handle thunder and loud booms. (We live near a missile range). Although she's gotten a tad bit better, I thought I'd try some reflexology on her.

Has anyone tried this on their pooch? Or know of someone or a site that talks about it?

I am a Certified Holistic Health Practioner with training in aromatherapy and Reiki for animals, but I haven't used reflexology. My suggestions would be to get yourself a book on T-Touch massage, a good animal comfort music cd (yes, they work), and some Bach's Rescue Remedy. Give her the Rescue Remedy with each meal and massage daily for calming. Use only calming scents in your house too (such as lavender). Natural scents work much better than some of the artificial commercial fragrances. I'll see if I can find a site that deals with reflexology. The closest I've seen is acupressure that is specific to dogs.

thanks, Penny. Sadly, Bonnie died last week. She is buried in our front lawn.

I'll try your suggestions if our other dogs experience anxiety though.
