A friend of mine just sent me an email about a danger to pets, that may be found in one's home. I don't have pets but I know most of you do.
The danger is the cleaning chemicals found in the Swiffer Wet Jet cleaning cloths. They can cause liver damage. Keep these away from your dogs and cats.

I heard that too, not sure its true but why take the chance. In use plain soapy water with clorox to clean floors etc. and it does a wonderful yet non harmful job. Kills the germs not the family pets.

Interesting website!

One thing my pet books say is that some cats dislike anything with a citrus scent.

I found this to be true. Last week while washing the floors with my Mr. Clean Lemon scent Benny came up to the bucket, took a whiff and poof! he shot off into a closet. We all had a good laugh.

Dogs don't like the smell of citrus, either, and a friend of mine used citrus scented anti-bark collars on two of her dogs-- instead of a shock, the dogs just got a little whiff of citrus from this collar to discourage barking. It worked, and she didn't have to do that shock collar thing (these dogs barked ALL the time just on general principle.)After a few weeks, she took the collars off and then could just show them to them when they got too rowdy and they'd quiet down.

According the the websites about such things, the Swiffer story is an urban legend. But I don't think I'd take the chance of getting one myself.

I had heard that Febreeze is harmful to pets, but the commercials feature dogs, so that seems cruel, if it is true.

I would think it might be harmful to birds but I use it in other rooms where her cage isn't located and my dog has never had a problem.

Ms. Sotmary if you'd like to ease your mind about Febreze, just check it out on the website MossPatch mentions above for "Urban Legends"....it indicates that the info about Febreze being dangerous to pets is false. Thankfully!

I use Febreze everywhere and have many animals roaming around here, this place sometimes looks like Noahs Ark some days....it is a good product that actually does what it says it does...thats refreshing in more ways than one, pun intended, LOL
