I remember driving from Baltimore, Maryland to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in an air conditioned car with three heavy Camel smokers. It was brutal! I was waiting for flames to spark from my eyes because they were burning so badly. And you know what? My aunt, uncle, and his mother never thought twice about it.

I use to smoke, but quit about three years ago. Now I cannot believe what I put others thru because all of my friends and family members ALLOWED me to smoke in their homes and cars. AND THEY DIDN'T SMOKE! Good grief! Now I've traded cigs for food. EEEK! JJ

I never drank or smoked but overeat, well now thats another thingy...munch, gobble, slurp!!!!

When we went to a restaurant in Arizona, the non-smoking section was separated from the smoking section by a 4' high curtain. I had to move my seat to a far corner.

I hated it when you'd go to a restaurant and really not find any place to sit where the smoke didn't find you. I've never been a smoker but am so happy we don't have to put up with any of it in public places any more. Sandpiper

It was actually recommended as a weight loss method to women in the 50's. Remember all the tobacco commercials and the catch phrases? I'd walk a mile for a Camel.
