Have you ever tried to remember something you saw, heard or even did? I find that it takes me a little longer to come up with say names of people, movie titles and just facts. I do remember them eventually but it's like saying, "it's on the tip of my tongue." Humm, wonder where that saying originated? I hate not bvieng fast minded as I always was before. It is not too bad but agrivating just the same. If i was on a quiz show, I doubt I could beat the buzzer, blaaaaaah!

Definitely have this problem more now than ever.

The word eventually comes to me later in the day or week, and then I can't remember who I was talking to.

Cognitive lapses. It's REAL and it happens. Someone told me it was like a "record...as in album" skipping. You go round and round and "skip" words, memories etc.

I call it rolling mental blackouts. And I insist it's because my brain is so full (probably of totally useless information!) I can't locate where everything is. If only we could defrag our brains like we can computer hard drives!

Sometimes the wrong word comes up. Something similiar sounding, but a totally different meaning. I find that happens when I don't get enough sleep. After a good nights sleep I feel alert and I can take on the world...but when tired, I feel like my age.

I call it my "senior moments". I try to find a way around it though...memory by association. It's like tracking back.

Well it looks like I'm not alone with this situation. Actually since I am such an old poop, older than most of you, I should be happy it is just beginning to happen to me. Late bloomer, slow gloomer. Is that even a word, oh heck, who cares???

Stuff generally comes to me in the middle of the night, when it doesn't do me an ounce of good. Or if I'm on the phone and need
a certain word, it'll come to me directly after I hang up. Geese!

Some folks' call that "a senior moment"; whatever it's irritating.
