Anyone remember Blue Waltz perfume? It came in a tiny clear heart shaped bottle with a blue tulip cap. I remember buying it in Woolworth's when I was a kid for 29 cents. I just loved it. It also made great Christmas gifts for my mom and my aunts. I just saw a bottle in the old 5 and 10 cent store in North Conway, NH. the lady opened it and let me smell it. What memories it brought back. I also remember Evning in Paris, the one in the blue bottle with the silver cap, but it was more expensive. I am writing about it in my blog update.

All the experts say that one of the strongest memory tweekers is smell, good and/or bad smells. Everytime I pass an Italian restaurant it brings back all those family meals around Grandmas kitchen table, and what smells and tastes we enjoyed back in the day.

For me Chatty it is the smell of Lifebouy soap..I had to stay in hospital to have my tonsils removed..my soap dish tooth powder tin..which I had eagerly shopped for made me so homesick. That first seperation..scary.
Actually this year I visited the same cottage hospital..used the facilities and felt the same...but onward and upward..only briefly did I feel that tug of heartache and abandoment..

A good reminder of what others are feeling.

I LOVE that catalog Alice, and have mentioned it many times here in the forum as the place to go for all the old things, back in the 50's and even older. They still have all the penny candy we were able to get at the drugstore as kids 60 years ago.

Plus some dandy new things as well. I swear by their two sides throw rugs, same on both side, no rubber crap that peels off in the washer. These rugs aren't cheep but they last forever, I kid you not.
