Is anyone having or attending a Super Bowl party? When married my ex was a real fan and we had snacks and watched the game. Now single, I don't do anything much, hate sports. My DIL said if I come over she will teach me about my new camera phone if I promise to make stuffed peppers for us. She will buy the groceries and I'll cook. Its the first Sunday my son has been gone and I bet she's lonely, he did everything for her...

Well Chatty, it will be hard to top last year's Super Bowl events since my granddaughter, Katie, was born on Super Sunday last year Her 1st birthday is Monday and we are having her party on Saturday so not to interfere with the super bowl of course. she already knows to throw her arms up in the air when we yell "touchdown!"

We used to have lots of company but now the kids all have their own homes, etc. not to mention bigger tv's. So it will be just Dick, Charlie and me. Charlie is my husband's best friend. He is Polish and makes the best stuffed cabbage. He will be making that again as he does every year and we will probably go next door to the Porthole Pub Saturday night for a while (after katie's party of course) Then Sunday, we will watch the game. By the way, I seldom stick around for this as I am not a sports fan, but I am surrounded by die hard Pats fans and since they have been so awesome, even I want to be part of it Sunday. It's GO PATS in our house.

We used to have big parties with pools and such, but our family and some of our friends now live farther away. We'll probably end up with another couple over for food and company.

I'm not into the game itself. The only thing I really get into is the ads and I root for the team that will help me win on the superbowl pools I participate in. Anyone in a pool this year?

No. I have a square though. I've been doing the squares because that's what is going around. I don't know anyone with the cards. I used to like to do the football cards. I won on a square once this year. Would like to win in this one. More $$ I've never been into any of it before. Still not really, but it's hard not to be when my husband is so into it. He won a free trip to the Super Bowl when it was in New Orleans.

The only super bowl I'll be doing is my toilet. Scrubbing and cleaning...cleaning and scrubbing.

Chatty
a new era for you and DIL..
we had "parties" on Friday when my children were small. Then again when they were at university. Not a big deal..but a film and small table set with goodies.Nice glasses fizzy fresh orange(later bucks fizz) whatever hors de vers I could muster and seriously unhealthy pudding. This was after the main meal and an extra. We offloaded the week..then my daughter wanted to do a half marathon and we started on smoothies and healthy snacks.still using nice glasses and napkins.I always liked playing house.still do.
So Chatty start a ritual.

We're not big football fans (we're just counting down the days until baseball season opens!!!!) but we sometimes watch the Super Bowl for all the hoopla and ads. Still, this has been a huge year for the Pats so we'll probably join in to see history!

jawjaw, you're in the same ...bowl... as I am.
Until 3 days ago, I didn't even know which teams were playing, or what day it was on tv.

I usually work Sundays so it's a moot point. However, rain is predicted so El Hub will be home in front of the TV screaming at referees and the like. If he gets too loud, I may Super Bowl myself over to Nordstrom's!

All my men headed out to watch the game with friends. I saw just a bit of the game, during the last quarters. Sadly, the NE Pats did not end with a perfect season, but hey... someone had to win!!! Congrats to the NY Giants!
