LOL! I still do that too, Di! My mom would always give us the beaters to lick after mixing a cake or cookie batter. I know, I know....raw eggs are involved. But cookie dough is goooood!

Oh, you just brought back a sweet childhood memory. My grandmother used to make the to die for kind of caramel rolls and she would let me like the spoon from the butter and brown sugar bowl. Oh, sweet world!

This reminds me of baking with my kids when they were little. There were times when I baked with all three so I had to use the beaters and a spoon, or else it "wasn't fair." I never thought it was fair because I didn't get to lick a darn thing, but I made up for it once everything came out of the oven.

I have been licking spoons, beaters and bowls for more years that I care to mention,(more than 40) and I'm still here. Guess my chicken eggs know they're in a Gourmet cooks kitchen and wouldn't dare!!!....:LOL

I loved licking the spoon after Mom made chocolate pudding. Or whipped cream. I don't use beaters much anymore, but when I do, hubby always manages to appear just in time to lick them clean for me...I don't think he got to do that very often when he was a kid, being the youngest of 15 children, so he's making up for that particular deprivation!

I used to make fudge with Marshmallow Fluff and once I poured the stuff out of the pan, I scraped the hardened chocolate from the pan with the spoon and licked it off the spoon. Oh, was that good!
