Does anyone remember hay rides. This is the time of year we use to have them. Then sit around a camp fire roasting marshmellows, singing songs and telling ghost stories. I got many a kiss on the ride home thought that was what romance was, aaahhhhh young love!

Just seven miles from Fredericksburg we have, Belvedere Plantation.

During the spring we have the strawberry season. They take you out to the fields in a tractor pulled wagon. You take your buckets with you and pick strawberry galore.
Best part is...you eat as much as you want while picking. Check the recipes out on their site.
Yummy

During the fall it's the Great Pumpkin Patch
Clydesdale wagon rides, old fashioned hayrides and bonfires...even a great Pumpkin Maze. Not to mention the colorful mums.

So many different things through out the year.

All the area school children look forward to the field trips to the plantation.

Check out the site:

We moved to Fredericksburg 15 years ago, I fell in love with this historic town at first sight.
Downtown area is loaded down with antique shops and quaint old homes. Horse drawn carriage rides, and trolley tours, civil war reenactments, history galore abounds here.

If, you have never visited...you really are
missing out.

Take the tour and find out....

chatty, this stirs up memories. I didn't do much of this a kid, but sure did it with our kids. There was one we would do with our church. My favorite was singing around the fire, even though I can't carry a tune in a bucket. Somehow I think of marshmallows stuck to sweatshirts when I recall those evenings.

yep, great sites. I especially love the one of your town. Very fun. Clydesdale wagon rides? What lucky kids. The only time we see Clydesdales around here is the Fourth of July Parade. Can you tell I'm a city slicker?

I went on a school hayride in the fifth grade. My boyfriend tried to kiss me and when I pushed him away, my finger accidentally went up his nose and gave him a nose bleed. Not very romantic but what did he expect at that age?

LOL The only hay ride I ever went on was in college. I don't remember much except it was a bling date and the guy was as unimpressed with me as I was with him.

Hay rides are very popular around here in the spring, summer and especially fall. Then there are sleigh rides in the winter. I've never been on one of those, but maybe someday.....

Jackie, a bling date? Does that mean you mean wore lots of jewelry? [Big Grin]
