Did anyone else have Square dances at their school? We used to do it in gym and then have a square dance at night. Even back then we thought they were corny but we all went! I loved watching American Bandstand also! Because it had a good beat and you could dance to it!

Then you went home and the bottoms of your feet were BLACK. TVC, no square dances at my school. I remember lots of mixers. That's what we called co-ed dances with live bands, no lights, and heavy breathing.

And the Twist, The Jerk, The Mashed Potato, Chubby Checker, Elvis, Ricky Nelson, Leader of the Pack, Wake Up Little Suzie and so much more! Loved those sock hops!

I saw him a couple of times in Disneyworld recently. He can still twist. How about the Stroll? Don't forget the Stroll. Anybody remember wearing pop beads? I had dthem in every color imaginable. I'd forgotten about pop beads ... and I remember having so many colors and making long necklaces and then wrapping strands around my neck, or wearing them down to the floor, bracelets up the arms.
