This is a strange situation but I have to ask a question here. It seems lately (a couple months) every time I laugh, sneeze, cough etc. I end up dribbling. I mean every time too. I am not unable to control my bladder and don't feel I have to run to the john every minute. This only happens when I do one of the above and I have a cough now. I wonder if things grow weaker as we grow older or what? Do any of you have this affliction or know anyone who does? Bummer. [Frown]

Ms C this is very, very common I'm afraid in us older women. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...just something else to look forward to eh?

I'll do a little research today and come up with a site for you to read about it, k?

Love ya,

JJ

I remember when my boys were infants and they always seemed to be wet from something, day and night. I'm not sure... are we really getting older, or younger [Wink]

Gotta comment here - I've got the same problem and from what I know, it is indeed one of those age-related issues! FUN FUN FUN....as soon as you get used to one "issue", another one comes along....aging body parts....too bad we can't just plug ourselves into our computers, go to a website that does "body upgrades", and download some repairs?! EEEEK...who knows - maybe it will be like that some day (kinda scary, huh?). [Eek!]

Meanwhile, get some panty liners - they are light and you won't even notice them - that's what I do....at least when you giggle or cough, you don't have to worry about the leaking! [Big Grin] [Wink]

Isn't this why we cross our legs when we laugh and sneeze? [Razz] Don't all middle aged women do that?

A couple years ago I was invited to play in a basketball league for women. The first time down the court I ran like a crazy lady. Now remember, I walked 3-4 miles, 3-4 times a week back then so I thought I was fine and in shape.

What happened next had me in a quandry. Am I wetting myself? [Eek!] What the heck is going on? [Eek!]

Sure enough ladies. Dag, and I only birthed one child. I can't imagine what would happen if I birthed the other two. Is that what those kagel(sp?) exercises were all about after giving birth? I guess I didn't listen.

Mini pads all for everyone!

I can live with the dripples somewhat...but what I hate is when you've eaten something like Mexican and you sneeze...holy moly! Okay, that just may be one of those things you don't share, right? sorry....(teehee...NOT) [Wink]

That is so funny JJ and you've hit the nail right on the head....or where ever. I was on a date one night awhile back and we went to Willie & Joses in Sam's Town Casino. I ate alot of spicy Mexican food, and I mean alot for over two hours we ate courses and it was soooo darn good. Then we had the bright idea to go bowling. I stepped up to the line, moved gracefully (haha) forward, bent to throw the ball and as my hand let loose of the ball, my a- - let loose of a burst of what sounded like a drive by shooting. I froze, turned slowly to be met by the eyes of a dozen people snickering, what could I do? I took a bow, and they all roared with laughter. Wonder why Brad never called me again? [Confused]

Chatty, you're a riot. I'm laughing with tears here.

And I was just tearful from Songbird's post about the unusual Sunday service.

You never know what you're going to find in these forums. [Big Grin]

Prior to my hysterectomy, a friend warned me that I had to insist that my surgeon "cinch" up my bladder after removing the uterus or I'd have problems. Well, of course, being a man, he didn't listen. Now, if I sneeze, laugh or cough suddenly it's "Depends" city. I've tried the exercises, cutting out caffiene, blah, blah, blah...we are doomed to piddling! Now I feel guilty for all the times I've teased my poor mother over the years. As for the other problems...I had 5 brothers growing up who prided themselves on their ablilty to belch or "flatulate" the alphabet....I'm a tad hung up about that kind of thing. My children are convinced that I am the only human who does not have certain bodily functions.
