My hubby and I are heading to Ireland next month for our vacation....anybody been? Have any "gotta see" type spots that we might enjoy? We are on a tour but have some "extra time" so if you have any recommendations regarding Dublin, that would be great - we are there for 3 days at the end of the tour.

We've been to Europe a number of times but never to Ireland.....I'd say I'm going to kiss the blarney stone BUT imagine how germy it must be!!! (haha)

Thanks in advance ladies.... [Big Grin]

Pam, I've never been to Ireland but I have a friend that frequents it. They visit the west coast for the most part.

Her husband and his brothers have an Irish band and they have actually played at The White House. They're great. All three of them have professional jobs and play Irish music on weekends. They're crazy about it and so are their fans.

Anyway, she said to definitely take the double decker bus tour of the city. It's fun and educational. Also go to Trinity College and see the hand painted Bible. She thinks you should try to get to the country. Dublin is congested and the countryside is lovely.

That's her 2 cents worth! Have a great trip and let us hear about it when you return!

Thanks Dotsie! I certainly appreciate the information.....Trinity College is on the tour we are taking - AND we have 3 days in Dublin so will have plenty of time to get outside of the city I'm sure. We added a day onto the FRONT of the tour also so will get to see the area around Bunratty on our own....planning on a trip to the Cliffs of Moher - HAVE to see that magnificent view!

Again - thanks for asking your friend for tips - we will most definitely do the double-decker bus thing...I love those.
