Hi Everyone,

Haven't been to the movies for awhile--mostly because I've seen little that looked good.

Has anyone seen some good movies that they could recommend?

How about "Stepford Wives" or the latest "Harry Potter?" Any good?

Appreciate any info you'd like to share...

Toni, my sister saw Stepford wives and said it was great. She also thought it was one that men would also enjoy.

My son saw Harry Potter (he's 15) and he really enjoyed it.

Now if you want to stay home and rent a movie, I recommend Along Came Polly with Ben Stiller and Jennifer Anniston.

I can't look at him without laughing. [Big Grin] It was hysterical. We snorted at times because we were laughing so hard. [Eek!]

Thank you, Dotsie. I've been hearing some good things about Stepford Wives and Harry Potter. The Ben Stiller movie sounds entertaining and funny.

Looks like I'll be going to the movies this weekend!

A girlfriend and I went to see 'Garfield' last night. It was pretty good - not quite as clever as Shrek 2.

I want to see Stepford Wives soon. Spiderman II comes out soon, too!

Thanks, Donna. Garfield is another one I'd like to see. Bill Murray as the voice of Garfield, can't be too bad. I think that role was 'made' for him!

Absolute MUST SEES:

*Second Hand Lions
*Trip to Bountiful
*Whales of August
*Harold & Maude

Dave and I saw Harry Potter III and thought it was simply "okay". Neither of us read this book so the movie had gaping holes. It's dark, full of "implications" <starts off w/Harry playing with his "wand" under the bed covers> and doesn't really, imo, tell the story very well.

However, this is coming from someone who recommends movies only obtainable on video or DVD because they are OLD...lol.

I still want to see that movie about Tuscany...the one w/Diane Ladd. Can't remember the name though...I've heard it's NOTHING like the book and I really liked the book until the last couple of chapters.

Years go by and my husband and I talk about all the movies we want to see. We have so much catching up to do.

MYSTIC RIVER with Sean Penn is a heart wrenching riveting movie. Penn gives an academy award performance. [Smile]
