I was speaking at an event, and my part was through, so I assumed they'd turned off my mike, even though it was still attached to me. I went out in the hall and started talking to people in the crowd, only to find out the mike was still live. Big oops! At least all it picked up in my case was aimless chatter! (I have also heard of speakers who visited the rest room while their mike was still "hot."
