Her name is Leisa and she's been in and out of the emergency room too many times to count. At first they diagnosed her with a bleeding ulcer and gave her meds but she made another trip to ER last night from severe pain. She's in nursing school so she's been studying symptoms and it could be her gallbladder but if they don't do something soon, it's going to get worse. I just lost a cousin from this same problem.

Dianne, I have added your daughter, Leisa, to my prayer list. Gall bladder pain can be very severe and it can move around. I had to have mine removed a long time ago when I was 25, just a few months after the birth of my second child. I will pray for Leisa daily until you let us know that all is well.

Nothing like having a child who isn't well. I know your heart is aching. I'm praying for her and you. Also, the doctors and nurses.

Is she near? Can you be with her?

Dianne,
You lost a cousin to the gall bladder surgery? Or lack of it maybe? I wasn't clear on that. Of course we will keep Leisa in our prayers. Bless her heart. I know when our kids ache, we ache for them. I have thought so many times, "I wish I could swap places with them!" Take heart in knowing you have an army of boomers praying for her speedy diagnosis/recovery and for you as well!

She lives in AZ and I'm in TN but have been keeping close by phone. Today, the doctor gave her Oxycotaine (or however you spell it!) until they can decide what to do. They're talking about exploratory surgery. That scares me. I'll be on a plane for AZ the moment they decide to do that.

My cousin was on his way to Utah to see his dad (my uncle) who was dying. On the trip, he collapsed from pain and it was his pancreas. He'd had one of those life scans and it showed gallstones but he decided to leave them alone. Not a good idea. My aunt buried her husband and son, eight days apart. Very sad.

OMG Dianne! How tragic. That poor woman, I cannot imagine. I've had my gall bladder removed and the operation is no big deal. They have it to a science now. Please keep us informed as to her progress.

I will offer Leisa to God in your name and the name of our sweet Jesus to heal her.

May God Bless your daughter.

Thanks so much to all of you. I'm so tired, I'm rummy right now.

The latest news is...Leisa had to be tested for TB before nursing school and it came back positive. I guess she was exposed doing some clinical work or something. She has to be on very strong antibiotics for nine months! We both decided she was going to have an ongoing yeast infection! The state is very strict about this. They come to your home and check on you to be sure you're taking your meds, etc. She's hoping that maybe that will be part of what's wrong with her. She goes in the 10th for more tests.
