Any good ideas for something fancy to serve my family? I need some new ideas!

What do you eat on New Year's Eve and Day? OR am I the only one who thinks about food all the time?

On New Year's Eve, you just drink champagne and don't worry about food. But on New Year's Day, you absolutely have to eat black eyed peas. Eating peas is the only way to insure food for the upcoming year.
I bought mine ahead of time cause the stores sometimes run out. Can't take a chance.

New Year's Eve we'll make some protein-vegetable-whole grain something or another. A glass of wine between the two of us. I despise champagne.

We have no traditions for New Year's Day. I'm putting in a big plug for housecleaning during the "less important" sporting events. I'll stand in front of the remote during every commercial if I have to.

Since its stay at home time on New Years Eve I normally bake a Chicken or a Roast but think this year I'll make the turkey in my freezer and just nibble on that, NO carbs and few calories. I don't drink so its SF root beer for me...boring? yes, but I like it. New Years day I never cook and usually have leftovers from the night before. Slow, easy and relaxing and a Godsend after the hubbub of the Christmas holidays.... [Wink]

To tell you the truth I don't care if we have leftovers. I've had enough food this holiday season. :eek

Dotsie, I have an idea why not tell the children that since it'll be the New Year you want to start it out right and that they should get together and cook a meal for YOU...then sit back with hubby, relax and wait to see what they come up with....Just a thought! [Wink] [Roll Eyes]

chatty, Ross and my oldest son made Christmas dinner. They did an awesome job. I did next to nothing. It was a nice switch. [Wink]

Your idea bout dinner on NY eve was a good one, but we ended up eating out. Plans can change quickly around here. [Wink]
