Here are a list of foods that we Italians know to order when eating out....I will give the name of the dish and then what it consists of.

Insalata cu Finuacchi e Gamberi...is sauteed shrimp and fennel with pink peppercorns and capers; argula, basil and parsley olive oil sauce.

Trippa cui Diavuliddi...is stewed honeycomb tripe with cannellini beans, potatoes, carrots, onions, celery and spicy pepperoncino oil; grilled filone cruotons.

Zuppa Millecuselle...is Cannellini, borlotti bean, lentil and chickpea soup with button mushrooms, cabbage, celery, carrots and tomatoes.

Ravioli ca' Supressata...is Fresh pasta stuffed with sopressata salami, ricotta, crotonese pecorino; artichoke and tomato sauce with caperberries, pinenuts, garlic and dry ricotta.

Cavatelli Con Ragu di Capra...is Cavetelli pasta with goat ragu, pecorino ad goat cheeses.

Polastrella alla Cacciatora...is Braised young chicken with tomatoes, red bell peppers, crimini mushrooms, and pepperoncino, spicy roasted potatoes, eggplant and peppers.

Agnello Arrustutu...is Roasted boneless leg of lamb marinated with roasted garlic, parley and olive oil; thyme/shallot white sauce; sauteed spinach and lightly roasted potatoes, eggplant and peppers.

Order the foods we Italians order. Calabrian quisine....Buon Appetito

Hi Chatty,
Those foods sound interesting, but I'm sure I will never be able to remember the names when I'm out to eat. I can decipher some from the Latin I learned in college and usually just wing it. Hardly ever go wrong when I go Italian.
